I see David has taken my advice and reverted to a back 5.

fraser- exactly. It just BEGGARS BELIEF that we didn't get a proper striker in. Even a bang average one or a great big clogger you can just lump it to and will hold it up or at least occupy defenders, as emergency cover.

Norf - Antonio I take it.

Doesn't his hamstring always tighten ffs

Yep can't see why anyone would think it foolish playing half a season with only Antonio as our striking option.

I’d play Antonio as he is only ever one sprint away from 6 weeks out no matter how long you rest him. If he’s good to go he should play and we should bank the points. You could rest him lose he could start after what essentially is three weeks rest since Fulham and his hamstring could go in the first min against spuds.
As we don’t really have midweek games now he just has to get through 90 mins a week without breaking down I’m not sure I’d even let the cunt train!!! I’d treat him like paul McGrath and just let him turn up on a Saturday

Goose.
Very good point.
Tonight isn’t going to be easy.
They’re on a good run but if we are serious about top 6 we need to win.

Looking at our results against Brighton, Fulham and WBA; they seem real good points now.

Re: Team for Sheffield Utd
win the game and it changes the perspective for the next few, the likes of Spurs and Arsenal will need to beat us if they wanna catch us - and we are a better side when teams attack us.

Re: Team for Sheffield Utd
I thought it was hamstring/leg rather than just fatigue. Either way it's very risky having him out there if he's not 100%.

"We will have zero joy in any of those without him."

Given Moyes's record against the big teams, we'll have zero joy in any of those even with Antonio.

If he's fit, he starts tonight.

Re: Team for Sheffield Utd
I'd pick Antonio, I prefer to try and win the next game and bank the points.

Why does he need a late test for fatigue?
I'm looking forward to this after what seems a long weekend wstching other games.

Re: Team for Sheffield Utd
We are much more likely to win this one without Antonio than any of the other games coming up. We will have zero joy in any of those without him. I just don't see it as worth the risk.

Re: Team for Sheffield Utd
after this one you got a tough run of games inc spurs, man city, man united and arsenal.

do we wanna go for the 3 points and have a 6 point cushion going into the spurs game?
i'm torn.

with the games coming up we need 3 points tonight.

Re: Team for Sheffield Utd
Zero point in risking Antonio for this one. When will we learn rushing players- particularly him- back just ends up with the injury being reaggravated.

Then again, this is a 'huge rivalry' for us, so surely we're gunning to beat our biggest nemesis (laughs)

Seriously though, we shouldn't risk him. With an attacking mindset and the players we have, we should be able to win this one.

Fabianski

Coufal
Diop
Dawson
Cresswell

Rice
Soucek
Lanzini (someone needs to be able to get their foot on the ball and dictate pace with no Antonio)

Lingard
Bowen
Benrahma

Re: Team for Sheffield Utd
win tonight and we go 4th (at least for a couple of hours) so we have to go for it.
they are desperate for a win so hopefully wont just sit back and defend.

if Antonio is borderline then do you go for it?? hard to say, a win would be massive but then lose him for another 6wks and we are fucked.

Norflundon 1:16 Mon Feb 15
Re: Team for Sheffield Utd
If Antonio is fit which seems a big if at the mo I think he’ll stick with a back 4. We’ve are having a great season but let’s be clear we’ve been garbage in 3 out of our last 4 games as much as we need a win we need a good performance tonight. If we can win and put a good performance in that will set us up for those mugs at the weekend very well and put a bit of daylight between us and the teams below us. Need Bowen and Antonio to come back into form and Benrahma to start scoring also need the Lingard from the villa game who was full of running and strong on the ball as opposed to the weak as piss stroll around the pitch barely sprinting player that turned up at Fulham.
Let’s be clear they will be ugly northern cunts that will turn up tonight and they will fight like dogs as that’s what they are all about but but they are fucking shit and if we harbour any hopes of getting into Europe we need to win this and play well. This is a night when we could def do with fans in the ground

Re: Team for Sheffield Utd
Sir Alf's team
And with Bowen, Fornals, Lanzini & Fredericks on the bench we have options to make reasonable changes, apart from if Antonio does'nt start or gets injured.
